"Come buy, come buy:"

Those that know my love of Fantasy wouldn't be surprised when I anxiously read the poem "Goblin Market" by Christina Rossetti.

Oh, how I'm glad that I did, Enchanted by the opening:

Morning and Evening
Maids heard the goblins cry:
"Come buy our orchard fruits,
Come buy, come buy:..."

I was drawn into this tale of Temptation, Sorrow and Love. Holding my highlighter in an ever tightening grip, as I was drawn deeper in the Goblins pleasurable mire. I anxiously read on, yearning for a happy ending, which came in words so beautiful I want them planted in my Children's Minds, hopefully bearing a more nourishing fruit than the seeds the Goblins planted. I share them here for those of you who may have Sisters, and/or daughters.

"For there is no friend like a sister
In calm or stormy weather;
To cheer one on the tedious way,
To fetch one if one goes astray,
To lift one if one totters down,
To strengthen whilst one stands."
