The Temple Where Heaven Meets Earth was interesting for me to read because each chapter came from different talks, or essay's that Truman G. Madsen gave in numerous settings. Some of which I had listened to recently, unknowingly, one of which I actually listened to the day before I read the chapter. So for me I had the rare opportunity to hear the authors voice in my mind as I read his words.
The book is beautifully written, I appreciate that it Truman didn't feel the need to explain symbolism, as so many books on Temples have. For that reason, to really enjoy much of this book an understanding of symbolism and the Temple come in handy.
Truman included a good balance of Historical accounts of modern day LDS Temples, Ancient Temples of all sorts, and other Topics all of which help expand your mind to greater levels of understanding. I'm glad to have received this book as a gift, and look forward to picking it up again and again for years to come. I'm sure each time will lend itself to knew insights.
